Filipino Noodle dish: Shrimp’Palabok’

If you have been to Jollibee or any Filipino Restaurant, Palabok is a popular dish they serve. I’ve been craving for this dish but there’s no Filipino restaurant near me, so I decided to make it. The Mama Sita Palabok Gravy mix and Bihon Pancit Rice Noodles are sold in an Asian or Filipino market for a cheap price. But if there are no Asian markets near you, they can be bought online for a higher price.

Prep Time: 15-20 minutes     Cook Time: 30-40 minutes     Total Time: 45-60 minutes



  1. Boil the eggs for 15 minutes. Cut them in half then set aside
  2. In a small pot, boil 2 1/2 cups of water and pour in the Mama Sita gravy mix. Then follow the gravy mix instructions
  3. In a medium pot, boil 1 cup water and add the rice noodles (cook until the noodles are soft). Cook for 10 – 15 minutes; Drain then set aside
  4. Grind pork rinds and set aside
  5. Heat a medium pan and add 1 table spoon coconut oil. Fry the garlic until crispy, then set aside
  6. Use the same medium pan and add 2 table spoons coconut oil. Fry the shrimp and add salt and pepper. Fry for 10-20 minutes
  7. In a plate, combine all ingredients including the green onions

Yields: 1 to 2 serving
