Easy Holiday Dessert: Paleo Pecan Pie

Thanksgiving day went by so fast. But Christmas is right around the corner. Are you thinking of a healthier holiday dessert? Try this Paleo Pecan Pie recipe.  It will satisfy your craving for sweets and you can still maintain your healthy diet.


Prep Time: 30 minutes             Cook Time: 35-40 minutes          Total Time: 65-70 minutes


For the pie crust

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt
  • ⅓ cup solid coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 egg

For the filling


For the crust

  1. In a medium sized bowl, mix the almond flour, coconut sugar, salt
  2. Add the solid coconut oil and mix it with the almond flour mixture
  3. Add the egg and mix until the dough is moist
  4. Use a clean kitchen surface or a large cutting board and put plastic wrap over it
  5. Press the dough into a disk over the cutting board with plastic wrap
  6. Then once you’ve shaped the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap
  7. Place the dough inside the refrigerator while you prepare the filling
  8. Line your 9 inch pan with parchment paper
  9. Once you’re ready to bake, take out the dough and lay it into the 9 inch pan

For the filling

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  2. In a small bowl, beat the eggs
  3. Add the maple syrup, coconut sugar, and coconut oil
  4. Whisk together until fully combined
  5. Add the almond flour, almond milk, and vanilla
  6. Add the pecans and stir
  7. Pour the filling in the 9 inch pan with dough
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes
  9. Let it cool
  10. Store it in the refrigerator until completely cooled and serve
